This
declassified U.S. Navy photo shows a highly modified
MK 15 Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS). The "sea-whiz" consists
of a rotating cluster of six barrels capable of firing up to 4,500
red-hot coals per minute.
A Navy spokesman,
speaking off-the-record, said, "Lump burns hotter, but briquettes offer more
firepower."

right), who played Lt. Col. Henry Blake during the first three seasons
of the CBS series, was a huge WSM fan. His contract included a
clause requiring that the WSM be included in
all studio publicity photos like this one.
